LifeTouch managed to screw up the photos again (remember last time?). No idea how we're going to work that out yet, but I've emailed them yet again with proof they screwed up (yet again) and asking for the correctly done prints (yet again). At least I (yet again) ordered the CD with the original images on it and one of the images on the CD is the original shot before they messed it up. I wish I could stop throwing money away on these idiots, but if I want the actual school photos (which for some reason, I find that I do) this is the only option. They've got a total monopoly on Cobb County and no other companies are even allowed to negotiate with the county as a whole OR individual schools. These guys are such morons and I hate giving them money every few months.
That photo is outstanding. Sage did everything we asked her to do and her side of it was absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, that is not the image that came home. This is:
For refrence, you can see HERE what I actually ordered (pose 3). Based on her pose in the first photo above and the choices on that order sheet, it's pretty obvious they photographed for pose 1 (traditional portrait, head-and-shoulders), but cropped for pose 3 (landscape, head-and-shoulders leaning slightly forward arms resting (but out of shot) on a prop). The photographer screwed up. It's pretty clear that I had it written down on the order form correctly, since they auto-cropped it for the pose I actually chose. No human eye ever checked what went out the door, because any level of QC at all would have seen that image was wrong. They don't even sell a pose with so extreme a close up that the top of the subject's head is cut off.
I wish that this time and the last time I wrote about them screwing up so obviously were the only times, but they're the only times I've written about. Every single year, spring and fall, since first grade they have done something equally obvious to screw up. They have absolutely NO quality checking at any level -- from the photographers who take the images, to the software they use to auto-edit and auto-crop the photos, to the printers that print them -- their process is constantly screwed up somewhere and no one ever checks anything. I'm constantly having to mail them back things (at my own expense, I might add) so that they can send me the photos I should have gotten to begin with.
I'm most upset because this is the 7th time in a row they've screwed up this badly and this was the best photo she's ever taken. She did everything right and they still couldn't manage to not mess it up. She looks great and luckily I have the CD with the original image, but I still want the damn prints I paid for and I have a feeling they're just going to tell me no this time (see previous statement re: this being the seventh time in a row I've had to contact them about screwed up prints).
Does the CD allow you the "right" to go to Walmart or Some other store and have the photos printed there? I know sometimes walmart if finiky about the license/rights to reprint professional photos.
