The smell of slightly toasty pumpkins is in the air and I can't help but turn my thoughts to that time honored tradition of... ordering my holiday cards. It's true. I wait all year to get to do holiday cards. I usually spend all summer saying, "That's the one!" after every photo of Sage. Anyone who has known me any time at all knows I don't mean the one for the day, or the trip. I mean for the holiday cards. Last year I just couldn't decide and created several designs, sending them at random to family and friends. Some people even got two!
After last year's bonanza, I decided this year I should probably limit myself to just one (okay, or two) holiday card design. I loved the holiday cards I got from Shutterfly last year, so that's where I'm headed this year. Of course, I'm having another crisis of indecision. I really want to do Christmas photo cards again this year and I think I've narrowed it down to two choices.
I absolutely LOVE the timeline and story cards! Why pick just one photo, or a group of photos to create a collage with no context, when you can create a mini-timeline of your year? I love it! I don't have to figure out what to say in a family letter, and I can put all of those great photos in context (which basically services the purpose of the family letter anyway!). Now I just have to decide between a folded card or a flat one!
Happy trick or treating everyone. I'll be over here quietly humming Jingle Bells to myself and playing with card designs. ;)
